What is a Paso Fino Horse?

We get that question very often.

Paso Fino horses are a breed of horse that originated in Columbia and Puerto Rico.  They are a smaller, sturdy horse that is usually between 14 and 15 hands tall.

They are best know for their natural "gate" which is a 4 beat, lateral gate in which one foot is always on the ground making them incredibly smooth to ride.  "Paso Fino" literally means "Fine Step".  Paso Fino horses are known as the smoothest riding horses in the world.
